Salty Sway make over!

Out with the old, in with the new! Salty Sway Villas just got a make over. The past couple of weeks have been spent making Salty Sway “brand new”. We got all the old furniture out and got all the new stuff in. The master bedroom got new beds, new memory foam toppers, new nightstands, lamps – the works! All the sheets we use are now luxury Egyptian Cotton sheets. The upstairs bedroom also got a new bed along with new quilts and shams. We are still missing some small decor articles, but with the new dining table and sofa the place looks so much better! And look at that view! You can see the Caribbean Sea from anywhere in the kitchen, dining area or living room. Stay tuned for more updates on Salty Sway!

Dining in St. Thomas

Don’t wanna cook while on vacation?  Well, The Blue Sandcastle and our other villas offer an extensive catering option. Our chefs can do anything from a casual Caribbean night to a gourmet dinner. Ask us about menus! We can even put together a full board package for you. However, if you are going out to dine, we do have some spot we really like! In the area of Havensight and Yacht Haven Grande we definitely like Fresh Bistro and Tap & Still. Fresh always has an intriguing menu with new flavors and great cocktails. While Tap & Still has the best burgers on the island! Both are only about 5 minutes from the villas. Another place we really like is Bella Blu. Bella Blu has a European inspired menu and can be found in Frenchtown. We love their pasta dishes. Bella Blu is also a great place for Sunday brunch. And if you are in town Pita Express (Palm Passage) and Gladys (Royal Dane Mall) are always good choices for lunch! The Mafolie Hotel and Restaurant …

Visit from Norway

In October we had our second visit from Norway this year. My mother and sister came all the way down to celebrate Halloween with us and explore the islands. Above is the classic “Drake’s Seat” tourist photo. Enjoy some more photos from our short visit! All the photos are taken by my sister, Anne Marthe. Check out her blog for more photos! Next on our list was a stop at Mountain Top to enjoy some more spectacular views of the islands. Sophia was thrilled to see her aunt again! The second day of the visit started with pumpkin carving and Trunk or Treat at Sophia’s school. The entire family got dressed up as vampires! The weekend ended with a celebration of Øystein’s birthday with friends and family. (We really love how the new pool deck turned out!) Nova is relaxing after an exciting day filled with fun in the sun. During the visit we also had to show them the beautiful old passages of Charlotte Amalie. The picture above is from Palm Passage. A stop …
