A day out on Steppin Up

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Saturday we had the pleasure of sailing with the Steppin Up.

DSC_0026The Steppin Up is a 43″ large catamaran owned by Capt. Bill and Michelle. Bill and Michelle have been doing charters in the Caribbean since 2012.

On Saturday we were invited to come with them on a day sail. Saturday morning we sailed off from the marina and headed over to Christmas Cove.

Sophia quickly found her favourite spot on the boat. The big trampolines in front was just perfect for relaxing and bird/ fish watching as we sailed out.

As we approached Christmas Cove we were all excited to get into the water.

Christmas Cove is a favourite for both Bill and Michelle for night snorkelling. It is also a popular “first” stop when they take guests out on a charter.

Anchored up in Christmas Cove we are ready to have some fun!

DSC_0045Sophia was first in and loved the big float Bill pumped up for her.

The Steppin Up is filled with fun toys for the entire family.

DSC_0059Sophia also got to try the brand new Zayak. The perfect toy for those who like to watch the fish without actually snorkelling. (Although, Sophia loves to snorkel btw.)

DSC_0055With the Zayak Sophia could also go all the way into shore to see more fishes with a little help from daddy.

DSC_0073We also got to try out the paddle board.

DSC_0065That was really fun! I’m gonna wish for a paddle board myself for Christmas this year. Also great for those who wanna go to shore, but without swimming in.

DSC_0077Drying up and ready for her second swim Sophia was back on her number one spot to relax; the trampolines.

DSC_0081Michelle had also made us some great (homemade, yes!) poppyseed rolls. Michelle told me that she loves to bake (and cook) and that she loves making dessert for her guests on the boat.

Michelle makes all the meals for you when you go for a week charter. That way the only thing you bring is your bading suit and a change of clothes for the week.

DSC_0038Michelle and Bill took great care of us on the boat! We had such an amazing time, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a private and personal way to sail the Caribbean. The Steppin Up is both great for families and couples traveling together.

Michelle and Bill also told us a great deal about their favourite spots in the USVI’s and BVI’s. Going on a charter I think I would go with the “Captain’s itinerary” and make no other plans than to go where the wind would bring us.

This is what Bill and Michelle says about STEPPIN UP: Steppin Up is fully air conditioned and features Queen beds in each of the three guest staterooms. Each stateroom has its own adjacent private head and shower. There are several distinct living areas for your relaxation and enjoyment. A rear facing cockpit has full sun screens, and hard top Bimini. You can enjoy al fresco dining on a beautiful hand crafted mahogany table, complete with cushioned seating. Steppin Up now boasts a new and unique mahogany aft deck for sunning, diving, and relaxation. Her indoor salon has comfortable seating around a custom made cocktail table, which can be converted into a chess board.

On Steppin Up you’ll be sure to find a favorite spot to relax and enjoy each and every day.
When wind permits we have “Movie Night” on the bow, via our onboard projector. Do as much or as little as you like, in, on, or off the water.

DSC_0087Steppin Up is all about easy fun and relaxing. After a day at sea there is nothing better than to sink down on the trampoline and relax with a cold drink while the boat sails for its next stop.
