Day trip to the BVIs

While we’re still looking thru memories… This was one of our best days down here on vacation last year. Our last day on St. Thomas last summer we spent on a day trip to the BVIs. We boareded the Bad Kitty (day charter) in Red Hook and headed over to St. John to pick up more passengers. This gave us a great view of St. Thomas and St. John. Our first stop was Spanish Town at Virgin Gorda. Here we checked in with the BVI customs. Then we headed over to the Baths on the south tip of the Virgin Gorda. We started our walk through the impressive geological formation.   The sights were amazing. And the water so clear! After seeing the Baths we headed over to Scrub Island for some lunch and relaxing. After some “fuel” we were ready to go snorkeling. We stopped next to Norman Island for some fabulous under the sea reef views. This was great fun for all of us. Our last stop was Jost van Dyke and Soggy Dollar …

Her nede er ting veldig annerledes enn i Norge. Den nye hovedbloggen her nede vil bli The Blue Sandcastle. Alle som vil følge oss og livet i Karibien kan følge bloggen på Facebook eller …

Sunday on St. John

Yesterday we enjoyed a wonderful day at our neighboring island; St. John. We took the car ferry over to Cruz Bay. We were lucky enough to see dolphins in the marina before the ferry left!  First we stopped at Mongoose Junction for some luck and shopping. Then we headed over to Leinster Bay to snorkel with a scenic drive along the coast and beaches. After a 30 minute hike we came to the beach. We were rewarded with turtles and even a stingray when we first came under water. St. John is beautiful! We are looking forward to our next visit! Here is a little clip of our trip to St. John made with our GoPro – Hero 4 Silver.

Getting to St. Thomas

After a couple of days in New York we finally arrived on St. Thomas last Wednesday. We stayed very central at The Muse Hotel (Kimpton Hotels). This allowed us to take the dogs for a stroll in Central Park. Before 9 am all dogs are allowed off leash. , Being a bit jet lagged; breakfast in Central Park was great! The Muse Hotel was fantastic! The dog got their own beds and pet bowls. Vito and Luna enjoyed themselves a lot being treated to the super dog (very important pet) treatment. Wednesday morning last week we headed out to JFK. Mid-day we landed on St. Thomas. The dogs love the beach and the sea just as much as we do! We go for both morning and afternoon walks on the beaches. A favorite is Vessup Beach. Today is Luna’s 1st birthday and we’re all headed out for the beach now. Before we left Norway we were so lucky to get sponsored by GoPro! Her is a clip we filmed right before packing up our house. …
